2025 AI Outlook: Investing in AI’s Present and Future

The AI revolution is transforming investment portfolios. Join KraneShares on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 11:00 am EST to explore opportunities in AI through the KraneShares Artificial Intelligence & Technology ETF (AGIX).

This week on TCAF, Josh and Michael were joined by returning guest and fan favorite JC Parets, Founder & Chief Strategist, at All-Star Charts. They discussed luck vs. skill in the market, the best-performing asset of the 21st century (so far), risk-on indicators, JC's big short, and the breakout in bank stocks. (Listen)

INSIDE THE COMPOUND

For the first time back in 2023, assets under management in passively managed funds topped actively managed funds in the U.S. As this trend continues and strengthens, criticism of index funds has only increased. Which of those arguments holds water? Nick Maggiulli, writing at Of Dollars and Data, looks at the three main arguments and finds them generally wanting.

This is the biggest issue I have with critics of passive investing—they don’t have any good solutions to the passive problem. They complain about how market prices are being distorted by passive investors, yet don’t have any way for retail investors to overcome this.

BUBBLE TALK

This week, Josh spoke with Owen LamontSenior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Acadian Asset Management, about his piece “The Seven Pillars of Market Bubbles." The term bubble gets thrown around a lot these days, so having a better understanding of speculative manias is well worth it.

MERCH

What better way to warm the heart of your favorite finance nerd than one of these Hawaiian shirts? They are a collaboration between The Compound and Tropical Bros. The best part is that 10% of all sales will be donated to No Kid Hungry.

COMING SOON

This week on TCAF, Josh and Michael will be joined by Bob Elliott, Co-Founder, CEO & CIO of Unlimited Funds.
